The students love it, and they can't wait until it is time to feed them! They are fascinated at how fast the worms can eat through the food. It is such a great hands-on learning experience! So much to talk about and so much to discover!! I don't find that taking the worms home over the summer is that hard to do. I have enough organic scraps from my kitchen that it isn't difficult to manage. Right now I have 1 worm bin in my classroom, and I am wanting to start 1 more bin. I encourage all teachers to give this a try - worms aren't scary! They don't crawl around the room! They don't bite! The students love it!What more can you ask for in a "classroom critter"?
