More Seasonal Pics From The Friendly Worm Guy Farm!

The Goltz’s were the First on my Farm, Some of the old timers have told me some great stories, There was alot of old Farm Machines left behide, here is one of them, Made by the Waterloo corp. from Waterloo Ontario. This is a Picture of a Thrashing Mill. It is all wood! except for the wheels and few other parts. This Machine dates back to the 1920′s, The machine was bought by the Goltz’s and was used into the 1970′s. At the time the late(1990) young Albert Goltz a son, of Mr Gus Goltz, would thrash all the grain for all the farms around for miles, I was told Albert would be gone for up to 3 months at a time. the Thrashing Mill was operated with a steam engine till about 1945. After a tractor with a belt pully was able to run the machine.

Next we have a picture of a tiger-swallowtail butterfly

Here we have a picture taken from a ridge top looking down on one of our fields in Autumn with the colour of the changing leaves

And finally we have a picture of 2 Gelbvieh calves raised by us here! the calf on the right has went on to be a Herd breeding bull, the heifer on the left has been sold to a friend of mine along with her mother, They are both gone to a great home..
